As children we played the game “tug of war” often. This is where two teams would line up opposite each other and pull a thick rope with all their strength. The goal was to pull your opponents into the mud, which separated us by about ten feet. Each team would toe the line until one of us was muddied.
One tactical strategy I learned early on was during the team formation process. At first I overlooked the heavy-set kids, but this was a mistake. The heavier my teammates, the more force was required from the opposing team to pull and thus accelerate us into the mud.
My Republican Party asked me to toe the line this election and I probably will. I just wish we had a few heavies on the team.

Thanks for reading my thirty-third blog post.
