There is nothing more American than listening to a political campaign speech with strangers in a crowded room. As a nation, we entertain this extraordinary opportunity to reevaluate our values every few years. It is a visceral experience because we survive both economically and socially on the decisions made by those who were elected to represent us.
I met Neel Kashkari today. He gave a brief speech in Downey, California. His critique of the Republican Party’s current state of affairs was refreshing. He stood in earnest and offered up a simple message of unification. The Republican Party is the Party for hard-working Americans. His message resonated with me and with my fellow hard-working Republicans. It was a great day for grassroots campaigning.
